Conservation Grants Achievement Awards Project Spotlight

The Pope and Young Club has given well over a million dollars in funding to conservation projects around North America.

How to request consideration for a grant?
A Grant Request Application can be obtained by calling the Club's headquarters at (507) 867-4144, or by emailing admin@pope-young.org. Grant Criteria
Conservation Grant proposals are reviewed by the Club’s Conservation Committee and recommendations are made to the Board
of Directors for approval. Criteria for review of the proposals include the following considerations:

  • Does the grant benefit bowhunting and impact the future of bowhunting?
  • Does it enhance the image and elevate awareness of the Pope & Young Club?
  • Does it enhance the image and elevate awareness of the values of bowhunting?
  • Does it reflect the Conservation Program mission statement?
  • What has been the previous performance of the proposal?
  • Does it benefit wildlife and habitat?
  • Is it “national” in scope or “local” in scope?


The Pope and Young Club has announced its Conservation, Education, and Outreach Program Grants for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. The Pope and Young Club Conservation, Education and Outreach Program includes grants awarded to the following projects and programs in areas of education, pro-wildlife management, pro-bowhunting, research, and partnerships:

On May 19th, at a Cabela's in Phoenix Arizona, Marvin Zieser, Corky Richardson, Roy Grace and Ed Fanchin convened a P&Y Special Panel of Judges to measure a non-typical Coues deer taken by Wesley Ely of Wilcox, Arizona.
